Privacy Policy

This page is intended to let you know what personal information I collect about you, why I collect it, what I will do with it, and how you can choose how I use it.

Privacy is very important to me, and so I take your privacy seriously too. If you ever feel uncomfortable with the way I’m using your information, please tell me. If at any time you would like me to remove your details from my records, please just send me an email and I will remove you immediately.

Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics cookies to help me understand how the site is used and what I could do to improve it. These cookies do not collect any personal information about you, and I cannot use these cookies to identify you.

This web site is powered by Wix. There are two types of cookies used on Wix sites:

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behaviour or user preferences for a specific site.

A cookie alert has been set to my site which identifies how cookies are used on Wix sites.

Emails sent to members of my mailing list also contain cookies. These cookies identify whether you have opened an email and/or clicked a link within the email. These cookies record your email address, IP address, date and time you opened an email and/or clicked a link. They help me see whether an email has performed well or if I need to make some changes in the emails I send you. If you object to the use of these cookies, you must unsubscribe from my newsletter; the link is at the bottom of every email I have sent you.

Mailing list

When you sign up to my mailing list, I ask you for:

  • your name, so I know what to call you

  • your email address, so I know where to send the email.

When you sign up, you will be asked to provide your consent to receive email communications and customised online advertising. Your information will be stored by WIX, in accordance with their privacy policy. You can change your preferences at any time by updating your profile; you’ll find a link to your profile at the bottom of every email sent to you, or you can contact me directly.

Email communications

If you agree to receive email communications, your name and email address will be used on the WIX database to send you my email newsletter. I tend to email my subscribers when I have a new book out, when I’m running a deal on a book I’ve already published, or if I’m involved in an ebook promotion I think you’d like. You can unsubscribe from my newsletter at any time by updating your profile or contacting me.

By downloading a free ebook, or by purchasing an ebook form my shop, you consent to receive email promotions by Charmaine Ross. Your information will be stored using the WIX data base, in accordance with their privacy policy. You'll find a link at the bottom of my emails and can unsubscribe at any time with every email I send to you. I send emails to my subscribers when I have a new book out, when I'm running a book deal or if I'm involved in a book promotion. Your privacy is important to me and will not be shared with another third party. If you would like to opt out of my communications at any time, please email me on charmaineross44@gmail.com and I will permanently remove your details from my database.

Customised online advertising

If you agree to your information being used for customised online advertising, I may use your email address to help better target adverts to customers on platforms such as Facebook and Google, or to show you adverts on these platforms. You can object to the use of your information in this way at any time by updating your profile or contacting me.

Please note that opting out of customised online advertising doesn’t mean you’ll never see adverts about my books; Facebook, Google, and similar platforms can still show you ads unless you amend your preferences on those sites.

The principles behind using your information

  • I will only use your information with your explicit consent.

  •

  • You can provide or withdraw your consent at any time.

Your privacy is important to me, and it will always be the most important consideration when I use your information.

The only times I will use your information without your consent is if I have a legal or contractual obligation to do so.

Once again, if you have any questions, or if you ever feel uncomfortable with the way I’m using your information, please tell me.
